Waddington
Waddington is a regular winner in the Lancashire Best Kept Village awards. It has many beautiful Coronation Gardens. In 1465 Henry VI lived at the famous Waddington Hall for one year. It is said that after his betrayal of the yorkists in 1465 they attempted to capture him at the hall. The legend says that he escaped via a secret panel and staircase from the dining room. He was eventually captured at Brungerley Bridge on the outskirts of Clitheroe.
